IF YOU ARE A YOGA TEACHER:

(i.e. You have completed a 200-hour teacher training, or higher)

This program offers a generous & transformative 300-hour teacher training – for those seeking to feel qualified, not just on paper, but deep within.

This offering is unique among the sea of surface-level teacher trainings with its spiritual depth, respect for timeless living tradition, and dedication to subtle teachings.

In its structure, this training is built upon the five core Educational Categories set out by Yoga Alliance US. Then, it aims to meet the Competencies put forward by Yoga Australia. Within this framework, the program is a robust and rich immersion into both the practical and mystical ocean of yoga.

Yoga teaching is a noble quest. One that requires integrity, humility, and clear vision. It demands we all dig through the distortions and dilutions.

In a world where yoga is often reduced to form without essence, this training dares to return to the roots. It is not about acquiring another certificate, but about inhabiting the teachings so fully that they reshape how you live, perceive, and serve.

This is a path for those who are no longer satisfied with surface-level instruction — who long to steep in subtlety, sincerity, stewardship, and sacred responsibility.

Here, at SSoY, we honor yoga not as a commodity, but as a living wisdom tradition. You will not be taught how to “perform” yoga. You will be invited to remember it, to live it, and to carry it forward with integrity and inner authority.

Program Format

The initial 2025 intake is a “BETA” experience and will be offered in the following manner:

HYBRID ONLINE DELIVERY – delivered online with a large portion of content prerecorded, therefore self-paced and available to be studied at a time that suits, in the way that works best around your other worldly duties. Also includes regular live weekly sessions and meetings together as a group online. Dates and times to be finalised shortly, and will be conducted on AEST/AEDT time zone. Recordings will be available. A certain percentage of class hours must be attended live to be able to complete the training and graduate.

ONGOING MENTORING – after the 12-month program is complete, you will get a bonus 6 months of generous group mentoring support via an online app to aid in your integration of the training and development.

On Teaching Yoga

Yoga is not simply information that the teacher carries and disseminates separate from herself, to be left in the classroom or studio at the end of the workday. What is being taught is a state of being, a way of living, which by necessity is intrinsic to the character of the teacher.

In the study of Yoga, the teacher can lead the student only as far as she has gone herself. She can empathize with the student’s spiritual quest, and the issues that may arise during that quest, only because she herself has embarked on such a journey.

For this reason, it is difficult to separate the professional life from the personal life of a Yoga teacher. How can a way of life and a state of being be turned on and off at whim or divested when it is convenient to do so?

– Donna Farhi

“Working with Amy was above and beyond my expectations. Amy gently pushed me outside my comfort zone, which was like being supported by a dear friend who points out your room to grow, whilst imparting generous wisdom. Amy reminded me that my work is not about me – it’s about passing on the teachings and tradition. She gave me more confidence and something rich every session, and guided me to stop adding things to my “stress bowl”! – Sharon Andersen

“I knew instantly that Amy’s vision and values were very much aligned with mine. All of her information was so well communicated, genuine, and in-depth. Amy is extremely efficient, professional, and supportive. From the very beginning, I felt guided. I loved having the support of a senior teacher. I was extremely happy the program was structured to my needs and not a blanket approach. Amy was able to gently guide me to explore my interests and challenged my teaching style. This helped me to improve my classes by providing me with practical hints and tips that I was able to implement. Throughout the program, I have been extremely grateful that I was able to discuss my plans, learnings, and challenges. I can not begin to put into words the benefits I have gained – both personally and professionally.” – Alexandra McKeirnan

Frequently Asked Questions

What style of yoga is this training rooted in?

This program transcends modern labels & association with one particular application to postural yoga. Influences on the physical techniques are, for the most part, anchored in Hatha & Kriya traditions. We will be exploring multiple ways to sequence classes according to “the 4 C’s”.

Will this certify me to teach yoga?

This is an advanced program for teachers who already hold a 200-hour certification (or higher). Upon completion, you will receive a 300-hour certificate, which may be used toward a 500-hour (or higher) status, depending on your registry or accrediting body. For example, if you have already completed a 500-hour ytt, you could add these additional 300 hours, and in addition to other trainings, you could apply to register as a Level 3 (1000-hours) teacher with Yoga Australia.

Is this training registered with Yoga Alliance US or any other organization?

This training will be recognised by Yoga Australia. At this time, the course is not being submitted to Yoga Alliance US. Please note that membership body accreditation is not mandatory nor a guarantee of the credibility of a TT course. However, it is likely your country’s membership organization will review this generous program & recognise it. Significantly, this course outline was built upon the framework of the 300-hour guidelines set out by Yoga Alliance US. In addition, it meets the required outcomes & competencies set out by Yoga Australia. Hence, all requirements from both of these organizations have been taken into account when curating this high-level 300-hour teacher training.

What if I can’t attend the live online sessions?

All live sessions are recorded & available for replay. Live attendance is essential for mentorship & group learning, plus some assessments will be completed on live calls. There is a degree of flexibility to accommodate different time zones & schedules. There are a minimum number of live hours that must be completed, and therefore, you must be able to make a commitment to join the live sessions regularly, with the exception of a few that you can tune into the replay if needed (It is appreciated that life can throw us curveballs and sometimes things happen outside our control).

Will I receive further support after the training?

Yes. You’ll have access to continued support for six months post-training to help you integrate and apply your learning via an online app.

What are the payment options? Is there a payment plan?

There is an option available to pay in full: after a deposit has been placed, you will be billed for the remaining balance in one payment (due no later than October 21, 2025, AEST).

In addition, there is a payment plan available, which will incur a small admin fee. The details of this, including the payment amounts and frequency, can be found in the PDF info guide, which you can access on this webpage.

The info guide also lays out the payment options for the India intensive, which requires a $400 AUD deposit no later than October 21st, 2025 (and cannot be used toward the course payments).

If you have any requests or special needs, you can contact Amy to discuss.

All payments are non-refundable once made. If you select to pay via the payment plan, you’re legally committing to all payments by their due date.

Failure to make payments will result in your course access being on pause until the resolution of overdue payment/s. There may also be additional fees for the extra administration involved in following up on payments and getting them processed.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind, or if I cannot complete the program?

There are no refunds on payments already made. You will have already received all manuals & resources on commencement of the program, plus access to a large portion of the online content.

If you’re an active yoga teacher and declaring income as a yoga teacher for taxation purposes, a receipt for payments made can be provided for you to use for a tax deduction.

Am I able to use the course material with my own students & offerings?

All course material is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Absolutely no written, recorded, live, video, audio, or printed material may be duplicated nor replicated under any circumstances without written permission directly from Amy Landry.

However, you can most certainly use the content you personally create for assessments during the program, such as class plans, for your students & teaching work.

If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to simply ask Amy for clarity.

How many hours per week will I need to dedicate?

There is a degree of flexibility in how you pace yourself with the pre-recorded materials. Do keep in mind that some of the live sessions will be focused on the pre-recorded material. You will be notified in advance of which content that is before the live sessions, where relevant.

Given everyone learns & absorbs teachings at a different pace, you will need approximately 4-5 hours per week, each week. Note that this includes a blend of the live classes, self-paced online content, & personal practice. So the 4-5 hours p/w is not all intellectual work requiring high mental demand.
